Experience Reality

This post  is almost entirely unrelated to drinking coffee in Minneapolis, which was my main theme starting this blog. But as my life changes, this blog will evolve to accommodate those changes.

Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.

for some reason, the computer won’t let me put a space here
I’ve been thinking about hopes and dreams and goals I have, and I realized that I’ve been waiting around. If you’ve ever met me, you know that I’m impatient and hate to wait. But here I am, waiting for my life to start. Waiting to get to high school, waiting to get to college, waiting to graduate. I’m not only waiting, I’m wasting. I’m wasting all of this time because I can’t wait to get to the next part of my life.
I’ve had a list of things I’d like to do, similar to a bucket list, for years. Some are easier to accomplish than others, but I just haven’t gotten around to them. Today I organized and updated my list (below). The first section, italicized, are things that will be easy to accomplish. I just have to do them.
The second part of the list includes items that will take some dedication to do. I’ll have to work harder, but it’ll be worth it.

The last part of the list, red and crossed out, are things I’ve done. I spent an hour learning a bird call today and could finally cross it off. It felt great! I saw a wedding proposal at work, despite the fact that the women’s bathroom began flooding right before it happened. I was in there with a mop and a squeegee  gross and sweaty, and still managed to peek behind the curtain and seem the man get down on his knee. Some things might seem silly, but every one was important to me.

  1. Hi! I loved this post. I’ve got a bucket list too, though it’s not quite as long. I love some of your choices: I’ve always wanted to ride a mechanical bull myself!

Quick question: I work for a company that’s bringing the Caffeine Crawl to Minneapolis. Basically a pub crawl but for coffee and tea. We’ll be in town 6/1. I’d love to send you some info in case you’d be interested in getting involved. Do you have an email address where I could contact you?

    Thanks!

    Emily
